This Privacy Policy describes how the developer of Contacts: Caller ID & Dialer ("we", "us", or "our") treats information in connection with the application (the "App"). The App is a dialer and contact manager: it places calls, keeps your contacts organized, records call history, identifies who is calling, and blocks numbers you do not want to hear from. Using the App means you accept what is described here; if anything below does not suit you, please do not use the App.

1. What Data the App Touches

Everything the App works with sits on your own device and is reached only through permissions you grant:

  • Your contacts — the names and numbers saved on the device, shown in your contact list, used when placing a call, and matched against incoming calls so you can see who is ringing.
  • Call records — the device call log plus the numbers of calls made and received, which produce your call history, redial list, and caller identification.
  • Numbers you block — stored so the App can keep filtering calls from them.
  • Technical and usage data — handset model, Android version, App version, device language, device identifiers, anonymous figures on which screens get used, and crash or diagnostic reports.

Contact details and call history stay on the device and are processed there. None of it is sold, and none of it goes to anyone beyond what this policy sets out.

2. Permissions and Why They Are Asked For

Nothing is requested until a feature actually needs it:

  • Contacts (read and write) — showing, adding, editing, and organising the people in your list.
  • Phone (CALL_PHONE, READ_PHONE_STATE) — dialling from within the App and recognising when a call is active.
  • Call Log — building your recent-calls and history screens.
  • Notifications — telling you about incoming calls and calls that were blocked.

Any permission can be taken back through Android's settings at any moment. The matching feature simply pauses until you grant it again.

3. What the Data Is For

Purposes are limited to these: operating the dialling, contact, history, caller ID, and blocking features; keeping the App stable and repairing crashes; measuring overall use through analytics; showing advertising to users without a subscription; activating and restoring subscriptions; and improving the App. Selling or renting personal information is not something we do.

4. Advertising

For users without a subscription, the App carries advertising delivered by outside networks, Google AdMob among them. Such networks may read your advertising identifier and comparable technical signals in order to select ads, including personalised ones where the law permits. Personalised advertising can be switched off in Android's settings, and resetting or deleting the advertising ID is always available to you. A running subscription removes advertising from the App altogether.

5. Subscription and Payment Data

The App sells an optional subscription that takes ads away and opens its pro features. Every payment goes through the Google Play billing system. Card numbers, billing addresses, and similar payment details are handled by Google under Google's own privacy policy and never come to us — what reaches us is an anonymous purchase token, used for nothing except switching your subscription on and restoring it if you reinstall or change devices. Purchase records are held no longer than tax and accounting rules require.

6. Outside Services

Services from third parties operate inside the App, each under its own privacy policy, which we suggest you read:

  • Google Play Services
  • Firebase (analytics and crash reporting)
  • Google AdMob (advertising)
  • Google Play billing (subscription payments)

How these providers handle data is outside our control.

7. Keeping Data Safe

Sensible technical and organisational safeguards protect what the App processes. All the same, no form of electronic storage or transmission is entirely secure, so complete security is not something anyone can promise.

8. What You Can Control

Permissions can be granted or withdrawn in Android settings; contacts can be edited or deleted; call history can be cleared; blocked numbers can be released; ad personalisation can be disabled; and the App can be uninstalled whenever you wish, which clears its local data from the device.

9. Children

Children under 13 — under 16 in regions whose law sets that threshold — are not the audience for this App, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from them. Anything of the sort that reaches us is deleted as soon as we become aware of it. A subscription bought by a minor needs a parent's or guardian's agreement beforehand, and we encourage parents to switch on purchase authentication in Google Play so that no charge completes on a child's device without approval. Parents and guardians with a concern can write to the address at the end of this policy.

10. Rights in the EU, UK, Switzerland and US States

Data protection law in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland entitles you to reach, correct, erase, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your Data Protection Authority. Residents of several US states hold equivalent rights under state privacy statutes, including opting out of any sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. Email us to exercise any of them.

11. Deleting Your Data

No account is needed to use the App. Contacts, call history, and block lists live on the device and disappear when you delete them in the App or uninstall it. Should you want anything we might hold deleted, write to us and we will deal with the request within a reasonable period.

12. Revisions

This policy can change over time. Whatever version is current, together with its effective date, appears on this page. Carrying on with the App after a revision means the revision is accepted.
